McRunnerette
"Running on Fast Food"
My name is Emily. I love running and I love fast food, especially McDonalds! I ran my first marathon while I was in college – the Chicago marathon in 1994. I don’t even remember my time but I was proud of myself for running a marathon while living the college life and surviving on little sleep, lots of partying and lots of junk food. I didn’t run another full marathon until I ran the San Diego marathon in 2006 with a time of 4 hours flat. I remember my friend Leslie picking me up at the finish line with a bag of cheeseburgers and french fries from McDonalds, as I has requested. It was delicious!! After that marathon, I was hooked and have now run a total of 9 full marathons, including Boston twice.
I’ve never been too concerned about my time but more about enjoying my training and the race. My PB is 3:34:21 which I ran in Sacramento in 2007. This year, for the first time, I am really challenging myself to beat that time. Anything faster than 3:34:20 will make me happy but I am hoping to break 3:30.
Thanks in advance to:
McRunner for coming up with this great idea and encouraging me to continue his challenge.
My husband Ryan for giving up any hopes of sleeping in for the next 3 months since he will have to get up with our daughter every morning so I can go running.
My RC3 running group, especially Susie, Shelly and Shelley for motivating me to run farther and faster each day.
All my friends and family for supporting me and this challenge, especially my parents who support every crazy idea I have!
